Keeping Bluegrass Traditional

The sparks the Bluegrass Moutaineers ignite performing traditional bluegrass music is unique. Their burning desire fueled by their experience and the music shared by four generations to continue a family tradition in one of the world's most loved music styles. The fourth generation of the Bluegrass Mountaineers, Chris Wilcox is learning the traditional bluegrass sound. In a quest to carry on the traditional bluegrass sound, the Bluegrass Mountaineers combine old time claw hammering and twin fiddling to their unique style. Members take turns showcasing their vocal and instrumental abilities. Their love for the genuine traditional bluegrass sound is evident every time they take the stage.

The Bluegrass Mountaineers have many qualities that make them unique, but the basics of their success lie in old fashioned hard work combined with shining star talent, that only appears to glow more brightly with each performance. They bring to each audience an energetic, entertaining, family-oriented show. They rely on its driving instrumentation and accurate vocals to produce their unique sound. They present a fast moving live performance, exploding with energy as they play ror the crowd, the music they love. Their powerfül stage presence is accented by a neat, clean-cut appearance that adds to the public appeal and the esteem of their fans they value so greatly. The Bluegrass Mountaineers have achieved a variety of accomplishments. They have had the privilege of performing on the Grand Ole Opry, Nashville's Country Fan Fair, Ernest Tubb's

Midnight Jamboree, Summersville, Ralph Stanley's Bluegrass Festival, Chicago Folk Festival, The Wheeling Jamboree (W'WVA), a variety of television and radio shows and bluegrass festivals throughout the USA and Canada. Tom T. Hall and Dixie Hall signed Larry Efaw and the Bluegrass Mountaineers on their Blue Circle Record Label.

LARRY EFAW

New Franklin, Ohio’s Larry Efaw has been a cornerstone in the tradition of the bluegrass music genre. Playing the guitar and mandolin since the of age of 7, he is proud to be the fourth generation of a family band, “The Bluegrass Mountaineers” to create his own sound of bluegrass.

 

This year he is celebrating 60 years of performing in the Bluegrass Mountaineers.

Music has been his lifelong dream that he

 has pursued successfully through touring, recording and event production for over 50 years. The festival’s Perrysburg, Greenwich, Remington Ryde Bluegrass Festival, Maumee Bay Bluegrass in Super Class and

The First Quality Cruise and Travel’s Bluegrass Cruise reflects the knowledge of his audience’s enthusiasm for his music.

 

Larry has won numerous award and championships including Ray Hover Bluegrass Man of The Year, first place Ohio State Mandolin Championship and second place Ohio State Guitar Championship.

 

Although he has recorded and guested with powerhouses, (Dr. Ralph Stanley, Rhonda Vincent, Bill Monroe, Doyle Lawson, Del McCoury and more), he continues to make his own sound, “Larry Efaw and The Bluegrass Mountaineers.

 

Larry has been honored to perform at numerous world-famous venues The Grand Ole Opry, Nashville’s Country Music Fanfest, Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom, Wheeling Jamboree just to name a few.

 

He is a member of the World-Famous Wheeling Jamboree, A Kentucky Colonel, IBMA, SPGMA and numerous bluegrass associations.

 

One of Larry’s goals is to keep tight hard driving traditional Bluegrass music, promote and instill the love of Bluegrass Music in all. Most importantly KEEP BLUEGRASS TRADITIONAL
